Frequently Asked Questions
What is NutriSheet?
NutriSheet is an intake diary for dietary supplements on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. The app logs what you took and when, adds each nutrient up across every product you take and shows how close the daily amount is to the European upper limit. NutriSheet costs $2.99 once, with no subscription, no ads and no account.
How does intake tracking work?
Tracking is product-based. You create a product once, a multivitamin with its ingredients for example, and from then on you tick it off with one tap using QuickAdd. NutriSheet splits the dose across the individual nutrients and writes it into the day's total, into your history and, if you allow it, into Apple Health.
How does NutriSheet know when a daily amount gets too high?
NutriSheet adds each nutrient up across every product taken that day and puts the total against the European reference values (NRV) and the tolerable upper limits. That is what separates it from a plain reminder app: someone taking three supplements often takes magnesium three times over, and only the sum says anything. More than 45 nutrients are covered with their limits.
What do the colours green, yellow and red mean?
The traffic light shows where a nutrient stands today. Green means safe, below 80 per cent of the upper limit. Yellow means caution, between 80 and 99 per cent. Red means the upper limit is reached or exceeded. Personal details in your profile, a pregnancy for instance, can lower that limit.
Does NutriSheet warn about interactions?
Yes. NutriSheet knows common interactions between supplements, such as calcium and iron or zinc and copper, along with interactions with medication. The note sits on the product, and the intake plan suggests times that pull such a combination apart.
How do I get a product into the app?
Three ways: by barcode scan through the Open Food Facts database, by scanning the label with the camera when the database does not have the product, or by hand. Whatever the label recognition reads can be corrected before you save it.
Are there reminders and an intake plan?
Yes. Reminders can be set per product. Beyond that, the intake plan suggests time windows that follow from interactions and recommended intake times, for example on an empty stomach, with meals or in the evening.
Are there widgets, a Live Activity, an Apple Watch app and shortcuts?
Yes, all four. On the home screen, widgets in three sizes show today's intake status and your streak. The Live Activity keeps the day's progress in the Dynamic Island and on the lock screen. On the Apple Watch an intake can be ticked off right on your wrist, and Siri shortcuts let you log by voice or from an automation.
What is the deficiency check?
The deficiency check is a short questionnaire about diet, exercise, life stage and complaints. From your answers NutriSheet derives which nutrients are worth considering for you, each with the reason behind it. These are recommendations, not a diagnosis, and the screen keeps them clearly apart from the warnings.
Does NutriSheet work with Apple Health?
Yes, in both directions and only with your permission. NutriSheet writes intakes to Apple Health if you want it to, and reads workouts and weight back from it. Intake and activity then sit side by side in the same history.
What does the blood values feature do?
In the blood values and lab check section you enter twelve markers by hand or read them from a lab report with text recognition. NutriSheet shows the trend over time and points out how it relates to what you take.
What is in the doctor report?
The doctor report is a PDF for your next appointment. It lists the products you currently take with their dosage and since when, plus your most recent blood values. The PDF can be shared or printed.
Does NutriSheet keep an eye on stock and cost?
Yes. Each product can carry its pack size, stock and expiry date. NutriSheet speaks up when a pack runs low or expires, keeps a restock list you can share, and works out what your supplements cost per month.
Is my data synced between my devices?
Yes, through your own private iCloud. Products, intakes, blood values and settings are available on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Syncing runs through CloudKit in your own iCloud account, not through a server belonging to the developer.
Can I back up and restore my data?
Yes. NutriSheet exports a backup with products, history, reminders and blood values, and takes your profile and settings along with it. Restoring therefore brings back not only the data but also the personal limits that follow from it.
How does NutriSheet handle privacy?
There is no account and no sign-up with the developer. Your data stays on your device and syncs at most through your own iCloud. No tracking, no ads, nothing passed on to third parties. Health data from Apple Health is only read if you allow it.
What does NutriSheet cost, and is there a subscription?
NutriSheet costs $2.99 once. There is no subscription and there are no in-app purchases; every feature is included in the purchase price.
Which devices and which iOS version do I need?
NutriSheet runs on iPhone and iPad from iOS 26.2 and on Apple Watch from watchOS 26.2. It is a universal app, so one purchase covers iPhone and iPad together.
Which languages does NutriSheet speak?
Four: German, English, French and Spanish. The app follows your device language if it is one of them.
Does NutriSheet replace medical advice?
No. NutriSheet logs and calculates; it does not diagnose and it is not a medical device. Limits and interaction notes point at a possible connection and are no substitute for medical or pharmaceutical advice. For questions about dosage, medication or symptoms, please talk to a professional.
When will NutriSheet be released?
NutriSheet has been submitted to Apple for review and is not on the App Store yet. The link will be on this page as soon as it is approved. Material for the press is already available in the press kit.
