Accessibility

Accessibility is not an extra that some Seb-IT apps happen to get. Every app is built from the start to be usable with Apple’s accessibility features, and that is measured rather than assumed.

How we check it

Contrast is calculated

Colours are recomputed with the WCAG formulas: at least 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for symbols that carry meaning. Light and dark are checked separately, because the same colour scores very differently in the two appearances.

VoiceOver reads sentences

A row made of a name, a symbol and a marker is read out as one sentence, not as six fragments. Symbols that are pure decoration stay silent instead of turning up under their technical name.

Large text changes the layout

At the accessibility text sizes, rows change direction rather than simply growing. Otherwise a long name comes out as a single character, and that is exactly what we look at on the device.

Motion can be switched off

With Reduce Motion enabled in the system, our animations stop. A source check trips as soon as an animation is added anywhere without that consideration.

Captions and audio descriptions apply to apps with sound or video. None of our apps has either, so there is nothing there to support. Seven of the nine items therefore apply to our apps, and complete here means all seven.
